Smoothie King Selects Focus POS - 07/17/2007 |
Smoothie King Corporate has selected Focus POS Software as the certified software solution. Focus POS Systems has worked closely with Smoothie King over the last few months to create a software package that will help increase sales, decrease training time and provide enterprise reporting. Smoothie King was able to employ Focus' sophisticated programming ability to create a custom expert system, 'The Smoothie Advisor.' The Smoothie Advisor allows even new employees to serve up just the right type of smoothie with the proper added ingredients to satisfy the customers' nutritional needs as well as his or her taste buds. We look forward to working with Smoothie King in the years to come!

Southwest Food Expo 2007 - 06/29/2007 |
The Southwest Foodservice Expo is always an exciting event for Focus and this year’s 70th Annual expo (and Focus POS' 15th) was no different. We traveled to Dallas this year and worked the show with a few of our Texas resellers, Restaurant Computer Solutions of Houston, ECR Systems of Dallas/Ft. Work, Capitol Cash Registers of Austin and Integrated Solutions and POS Solutions of San Antonio.
This year the Texas Rangers played the Houston Astros at Rangers Stadium. Our Dallas dealer and Houston office have a friendly rivalry so we booked a corporate suite for the game while we were in town. To the delight of the Houston office, the Astros pulled out an exciting 12-9 victory after 10 innings. Go ‘Stros!

Focus POS Systems donates $200,000 to Stephen F. Austin State University - 11/22/2006 |
Focus POS Systems, a Texas-based technology company, recently made a $200,000 donation to Stephen F. Austin State University Foundation, Inc. to create a scholarship for the Department of Computer Science. The scholarship will benefit students majoring in computer science at SFA.
“The computer science faculty are very excited about this gift and about the potential effect it will have in attracting students into our academic programs,” Department Head Craig Wood said. “The department plans to use the scholarship funds to help recruit excellent high school graduates to attend Stephen F. Austin State University and major in computer science.”
The SFA endowment is a continuation of the company’s support of education, from supporting the Texas Restaurant Association Educational Foundation to volunteering in area schools.
“My family and my employees at Focus POS obviously have a sense of how important education is,” Focus President Lance Hirsch said. “If we can help someone else get an education, that’s what we’d like to do. We hope this donation will encourage other alumni to make significant contributions to the computer science department, and we hope to continue funding this scholarship in the future.” ... view the original article here
